Designer Alessandra Williams was inspired by the scalloped edges of door canopies to design this plate, hand carved from Jacaranda wood by a certified cooperative based in Nairobi. The deep rich colour is obtained using a traditional process of smoking over fire, and each piece is then oiled to achieve a buttery hand feel.
