Vintage Large Boro Blanket

For the latest instalment of our Selector’s Market, we’ve collaborated with former Kapital Kountry designer Shunji Ohashi to present a highly sought-after curation of one-of-a-kind pieces from Japan, as well as other unique finds from his personal collection.

This large vintage Boro blanket is a striking example of Japanese Boro fabric, comprised of multiple swatches of vintage cotton, linen and hemp fabrics in varying prints, overlayed and hand-stitched together to create a large textile artwork. The piece features a multitude of techniques including intentional distressing and extensive sashiko embroidery throughout.
